Coyote Ridge Farm is nestled in the rolling hills of North Brookfield, Massachusetts. Located on 38+ acres, Coyote Ridge offers exceptional turnout of green pasture, ideal for our young horses and mares and foals. As a family run farm, we take pride in raising and caring for our equine friends, and are committed to providing them with exceptional care and maintenance, including proper handling, nutrition, and exercise. We offer a variety of services, including breeding, young horse handling, mare care, foal watch, and boarding.

Coyote Ridge Farm was established in December 2004 with the purchase of the property. After much thought and consideration, we decided it was time to finally have our own facility, as boarding so many horses just did not seem practical. So, with that in mind, we set off to find the perfect place in central Massachusetts to establish our very own farm. And we did.
Once purchased, we realized we had our work cut out for us. With only a run-in shed on over 38 acres of pasture, we realized we quickly needed to get a barn. So, after designing a barn, we hired Morton Buildings to contruct it, and in Fall of 2005 our dream barn was finished!
But before we were Coyote Ridge Farm, it is important to realize we are a family with a long history in the equestrian world. Early's Riding Stables was established back in the 1940s by James Early I, an avid horseman and opinionated fellow who always had something to say about horses. Over the years, Early's Riding Stables transformed from a public riding facility to a private farm located in Paxton, Massachusetts. During this time, many family members became involved in the horse industry, whether riding or showing, or even driving. It was during this time that one of the youngest grandchildren, Anne Early, became obsessed with horses, constantly nagging her father for her very own horse, not just another family pony-riding equine. So, after proving herself through lessons and horsecare, Paul bought his daughter her very first horse, Lou, a 4 year old grey TB mare that had not been touched in 9 months. Without even a thought in her mind, Anne jumped up on that mare for the very first time in a field, bareback, with two lead ropes for reins attached to only the halter. From that day, a neverending love was born.
This partnership, continue to develop over the next several years, and Anne and Lou won many hunter championships throughout New England together, and had some life building experiences together not only in the saddle, but out of it as well. As years passed, Lou eventually neared retirement, and Anne knew she wanted offspring from her most trusted mount. And so, Lou was bred, and what would eventually be called Coyote Ridge Sporthorses was established.
And while many years have passed, and the operation has grown to a well-established breeding program in New England, that old grey mare still remains in the field, watching over all the youngsters. And every now and then, Anne and her old grey girl hit the trail together, bareback and bridleless, just to reminisce...
